Happy New Year! (Can we still say this?) We’re back in action and have already had our first sold out events and we’re only halfway through January. Good start! We had the Live Screening of The Tempest by The Royal Shakespeare Company (sorry, no pictures, we forgot) – plus a concert by popular Scottish band King Creosote (lots of pictures!). People queueing out the door. Then there was a group of primary school children braving the cold weather to come and watch a ‘scratch performance’ by theatre-maker-in-residence Ellie Griffiths. Ellie spent the week at the Barn developing her new show for young people. She was rather brave to test her very early ideas on a brutally honest audience of 10-year olds. It was snowy outside. They all wore hats.
We also had our new brochure arriving fresh from the printers, causing a lot of excitement in the office as usual. Got yours yet? They are being distributed as we speak. The Barn’s marketing manager Nina was invited as special guest on new community radio station River Dee radio, talking about our new programme and what highlights to look out for (it gets repeated every night this week between 6-8pm, so tune in if you can! ).
Pick up our new brochure in a venue near you, our box office or flick through the online version.
Here’s some pix of our week.
