The Woodend Wild Garden sits between the two sets of allotments and was created as part of the BBC Breathing Spaces project. Previously, it was a wasted plot of ground with a clogged up burn running through it; a friendly farmer with a JCB came along and with a bit of hard work it’s been transformed into a space filled with wee beasties, a huge pond and a load of frogs.
It’s the perfect space for a picnic, a spot of pond-dipping with children or just a quick stroll on a sunny day. You can find it behind Woodend Barn, in between the two sets of allotments and it’s always open to the public.
